When I asked about the movies I shouldn't be missing from 2013 release, Nebraska came as suggestion from one of my friends. I wasn't surprised given the fact that I heard the name of the movie in couple of Oscar nomination (or winning?? -- not sure).
Even though I got the Blu ray disc of the same long back, didn't get time to watch it until the moment arrived. It was a quiet afternoon. When I started watching, I couldn't help myself but thinking what a perfect choice for a relaxed afternoon.
Classic. Contemplative. You have to have courage to take the complete movie in black and white in this modern era. Watching the movie gives the experience of being in the middle of a sea. It doesn't fail to enter your mind and raise some serious questions against mankind, one of them being "does the suffix --kind-- really suit us..?". Bruce Dern's performance is outstanding. Even the natural humor of the movie makes you look beyond what you see or hear. I don't want to discuss much about what the movie has to offer. If you ask me, I suggest you go and watch it yourself.
Today's world that is filled with envy, unkind and inhuman attitudes, Nebraska is one of the stories that is in need of the hour.
